Getting ready for the opening of school is a matter not to be taken lightly, especially if one has graduated into the second grade. Seven-year-old Dan Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. William X. Carter of 615 Hughes, admires a shining shoe while Richard McGee of 619 Hughes, and Dan will attend the second grade at Sagamore Hill Elementary. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition September 7, 1954.
