The picture shows Fort Worth Civitan Club's annual picnic for children of the Tarrant County Home at YMCA Camp Carter, cooling off with a swim. Shown are, left to right, J. D. Nevins, 7; Billy Percival, 9, and Norma Earp, 11. John Wood, pictured with the youngsters, was chairman of the party, when 60 children from the home were entertained. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition August 18, 1954.
