Four members of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve color guard manned the halyard, as a flag was sent for the first time to the top of a pole at City Hall in an American Legion Police Post Flag Day ceremony. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition June 14, 1954.
