Description
It was tossed from a New York tenement window to Max Winkler, shown here with his wife, Clara, and from that penny developed Belwin, Inc., one of the largest music publishing houses in the nation. The Winklers were in Fort Worth, returning to New York from a trip to the Far East. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition May 25, 1954.
