Description
Vernon Kenneth Wright, 21, entered Texas Christian University (TCU) with two possible diplomas to present. One diploma from Mineral Wells High School and another- a Purple Heart- from "prep school" in Korea. Wright, who was released from Army active duty, got a late start in the Korean war. He was wounded in the neck and hip by grenade fragments and suffered concussion from an exploding artillery shell. Wright, who lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Wright of 1710 Lipscomb, was a corporal. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition May 18, 1954.
