The Army's vice chief of staff, right, General Wade Haislip, a veteran corps commander in General Patton's offensive across Europe, is shown with Brigadier General C. S. Irvine, left, one of the air Forces' seasoned B-29 commanders in the Pacific, now commander of Carswell Air Base and the 7th Bomb Wing, as they watched the parade of several thousand fighting men of the armed services at Carswell. The third man, extreme right, is unidentifiable. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition May 21, 1950.
