Emma Jean Barber of Whitesboro, a student nurse at City-County Hospital, is shown with Mrs. Johnny Mahan at a capping ceremony. Mrs. Mahan was director of nursing at City-County. Miss Barber was one of 23 nurses recognized for their first nine months work. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition May 12, 1954.
