Joe P. Moore, center, superintendent of Fort Worth's public schools since 1946, receives from Roscoe Carnrike, right, the Golden Deeds Award Certificate presented him at the Fort Worth Exchange Club's 25th annual Golden Deeds banquet, at which J. B. Thomas, left, served as toastmaster. More than 400 club members, guest and friends of Moore gathered at the Fort Worth Club to honor a career that started with a teaching job at Diamond Hill in 1917. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition May 8, 1954.
