Description

William J. Patterson, 36-year-old Fort Worth house painter, was shot to death shortly after midnight near Mansfield in violent climax to a dispute over a farmer's daughter. Peterson's slayer was Jim Milne, 70, retired farmer who said he shot Patterson, of 1445 East Baltimore, with a rusty.22 caliber rifle. Milne was held in county jail several hours for investigation. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition April 22, 1954.
