Wise County. This herd of Holsteins is on the dairy farm of Leon Atkerson near Decatur. Dairying accounts for well over half of the total farm income of Wise County. There are an estimated 48,000 dairy cows in the county. Beef cattle number 33,000. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition 16 May, 1954.
