Men of the armed services put their heads together to plan a windup conclusion in Fort Worth of National Defense Week with a joint Armed Forces Day Celebration. Left to right, Commander P. W. Card, instructor of Navy reserves in Fort Worth; General Wade H. Haislip, vice chief of staff of the Army, who flew from Washington for a series of national defense talks; Major General Archie J. Old Jr., acting commander of the 8th air force during Major General Roger Ramey's inspection trip to Europe, and Captain E. D. Stevens, instructor for the Marine Corps 155-millimeter howitzer reserve battalion in Fort Worth.
