Description
Part of the 12, 128 fans jammed into La Grave Field for the home Texas League opener. The turn out won the opening day attendance cup by 3,316, based on unofficial figures, Dallas taking second place with 8,812. This was the biggest opening crowd here since 1980. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition April 14, 1954.
