Alice Pearl Gatliff, 10, prepares to slice one of her cakes for Patrolman, J. A. Balthrop, center, while Jail Sergeant Phil Coker registers satisfaction over his mouthful. Alice, daughter of Mrs. May Gatliff of 518 North Sylvania, baked the cakes to thank police for past protection. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition April 15, 1954.
