Barney Koons, right, and Hardy Walton, standing, pause a moment to chat at the first of several dances planned for Fort Worth high school students at the Pioneer Palace, with Charles Moores and Eula Willett. Koons, a sergeant in the police youth division, and Walton, member of the city's Youth Activities Board, were among the event's organizers.
