Description
Durward Belmont Estes Jr., ninth grader at Amon Carter Riverside Junior High School, and two schoolmates escaped injury when the Rock Island's Twin Star Rocket hit Estes' 1951 car at Maxine Street. The three youths were trying to push their car off the crossing after it stalled on a high center. The car was overturned when it was removed from the tracks. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition March 16, 1954.
