Description
The Central Airlines plane landed at Amon Carter Field with the fist 200-pound consignment of "preferential surface mail" to be moved in a new postal airlift. The mail was picked up at points in Oklahoma and the Panhandle. Shown, in plane, are the pilot, Capt. Gordon Bourland Jr., and Stewardess Wanda Salter. Receiving a mail sack are Harroll Harbuck, left, station manager, and Don Hampton, supervisor in charge of the field post office. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition March 11, 1954.
