R. E. Hardwicke Sr., Fort Worth attorney and collector of oil fact and fiction, examines a map published in 1775 by Benjamin Franklin which indicates the presence of oil in Pennsylvania almost 100 years before its discovery. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition March 2, 1954.
