Description
Rising majestically 60 feet in the air on Alamo Plaza in front of the storied Alamo in San Antonio is the Alamo Cenotaph which depicts the "Spirit of Sacrifice" as a memorial to the more than 180 heroes who refused to surrender to General Santa Anna's forces at the Alamo. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition February 27, 1954.
