Fort Worth's Leonard Smith, left, and Tony Ramirez of San Antonio swap hard punches in flyweight battle as the State Golden Gloves Tournament, sponsored by the Star-Telegram, opened at Will Rogers Coliseum. Ramirez was the winner on a decision. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening February 18, 1954.
