Description
Starting to plan the "Miss Texas Pageant" were left to right, Howard Halff, who headed the contest for the Fort Worth Jaycees; Miss Leonoro Slaughter, executive director of the "Miss America" contest, and Miss Bettie Harbin, who represented Fort Worth in 1953 state contest. Miss Slaughter met with local Jaycee leaders at Hotel Texas. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition February 6, 1954.
