Description

The new $200,000 desulphurization plant of the Columbian Carbon Company began extracting Sulphur in flake form from natural gas. The Seminole plant has a capacity of 20 to 30 tons daily. Eight persons are employed at the plant which is near a gasoline plant formerly operated by Phillips Petroleum Company for Columbian. Formerly extraction of Sulphur from gas was too expensive but automatic equipment now makes it profitable. The Sulphur is trucked to the Seagraves railhead. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition January 10, 1954.
