Description
More than 200 sprinkler systems have been installed in the last two years in Gaines County to turn blowing sand and rich red clay into productive farms. Water is found shallow, 12 to 150 feet in quantity and because of the sandy soil, sprinklers are used instead or irrigation ditches. The system waters an oat field near Seagraves. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition January 10, 1954.
