The pecan tree, 18 feet in circumference, is declared by Stephenville nurseryman to be approximately 2,000 years old. Shown here is Tom Hefner, who farms north of Breckenridge, trying to reach across the huge trunk. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition December 13, 1953.
