The velvet red Will Rogers rose was voted among the three most popular when thousands of visitors strolled through the Botanic Gardens. Admiring the Will Rogers variety were Joy Dean Lucas, 10, of 2312 Delaney, center; Martha Busey, 10, left, and Ann Busey, 8, both of 506 Hardesty. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition May 8, 1950.
