Mrs. Joan Kraft paused for a moment as she boarded an American Airlines plane for her Canton, Ohio, home along with her 2-year-old son, Jerry Dean, after being stricken with polio here earlier that month. The stewardess is Miss Sue Poole of Los Angeles. They are all shown standing on the stairs leading up to the airplane.
