Description
Miss Birdie McCrary has been associated with Mary Hardin-Baylor College at Belton for 60 of the college's 109 years. She entered the college in 1893 to major in mathematics and physics. She was involved in establishing the college's public school music department and also taught English. All this time she also reared a family of eight younger brothers and sisters and managed to see them through a college education.. Miss McCrary retired this year. She is shown sitting and holding an open book. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, November 1, 1953.
