Equipment manager Albert Smith, left, and Coach Abe Martin, break out Frog helmets for the new season. Fifty one TCU football players will stride into Amon Carter Stadium Tuesday, September 1st, to begin a new era in Purple gird iron history. Coach Martin will look for 40 players as traveling squad and elimination starts promptly at 9 am with 2 hour drill and another session at 3:30 pm. The two-a-day workouts will continue until Sept. 14 when registration for classes begins. They will work under a new coaching staff, on a new formation and study a new set of rules.
