    Description

    J. Regis Berner, seated, rests after giving his 10th pint of blood at the North Texas National Defense Blood Center. He was the last donor before the center closed after collecting more than 80,000 pints. The center beds that once were used for donors were empty. With Berner are, left to right, Larry Hayes, administrator, and two center nurses, Mrs. Helen English and Miss Ethel Bounds.
