Description
Firemen work to stomp out fire that sprang from an early-morning explosion in the 1200 block of Commerce. Two businesses were destroyed and five others damaged. Loss estimates ran as high as $200,000. Councilman T. L. Carleton's radio shop was located in the bottom corner of the building. Fire damage is shown to the Bender Hotel and Dug's Cafe.
