Description
This old brick smokestack at the Holly Water Plant is being torn down by workmen in preparation for a complete modernization of pumping facilities at the plant. Salted to be removed with the old smokestack, which long has been a West Side landmark, is the B. B. Paddock steam pump and the huge boilers which supplied power for it. Modern electric pumps that do not require steam boilers or smokestack will replace the old equipment.
