Description
Tris Speaker, coach of the Cleveland cub and baseball hall of famer who will be field director of North Texas semi-pro baseball tournament at La Grave, is greeted at Carter Field by Jerry Feille, Texas Semi-pro commissioner. The meet opens a two-day run Saturday, July 18. Speaker is the first man to be elected to the Texas Sports Writers' Association's Hall of Fame. As field director, he will settle any disputes that might arise. His plane was late 2 hours and 15 minutes due to a failed engine and they had to turn around.
