Description

Descendants of the two men responsible for the start of county agent work with farmers in the country took part in dedicating a marker Thursday on the farm where the work started 50 years ago. pictured are Seaman A. Knapp of Ames, Iowa, left, grandson of Dr. Seaman A. Knapp, founder of the Agricultural Extension Service, and W. A. Porter, son of Walter Porter, Kaufman County farmer, on whose farm the movement started.
