Description
Deputies Slugged - Jim Smith, center, night deputy, and Jason Young, desk sergeant, were struck from behind by the prisoners who overwhelmed them in the ground floor office of county jail. Here, Dr. W. L . Bass, intern at St. Joseph's Hospital, puts the finishing touch to the bandages. The men suffered deep scalp lacerations, were treated and released.
