Description
Poliomyelitis Window display in Monnig's department store features Perrault's fabled story of the wolf and Little Red Riding Hood. Dick Wise, Monnig's display manager and his staff created a unique wolf-like creature which stalks Little Red Riding Hood as a dramatic symbol of the dangers of polio in Fort Worth. A paper sign in the front of the display reads: "Polio is on the Prowl". Published in the morning edition, April 16, 1950.
