Miss Martha Ann Luckey, of 3755 Yucca, is shown sitting at the center of the image. Miss Luckey, a nurse at Saint Joseph's Hospital, was one of the witnesses that heard the fatal gunshots that killed Mr. Selwyn Smith three years prior in April, 1947. Mr. Smith was a former city-employee, and was 64 at the time of his death. Published in the evening edition, April 15, 1950.
