    Description

Tolly L. Baker Now Heads West Side YMCA - Tolly L. Baker, former program secretary of the Big Spring YMCA, has assumed duties here as executive secretary of the West Side YMCA branch. Baker replaces Ray Suggs, now boys' work secretary for the organization at Wichita, Kansas. The new secretary, a native of Brownwood, is a graduate of the University of Texas with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. He is a former teacher of social science, history, civics and government at Graham High School. Baker is a veteran of World War II, having served three years in the merchant marine in both the Pacific and Atlantic and one and one-half years in the Army. The West Side YMCA does not have a building, consequently its organizations will meet in churches, schools and homes. Baker will direct the Gra-Y Junior and Hi-Y activities in all schools of the West Side as well as carry on other organizational duties. Volunteer leaders are needed to help with the work.
