B. W. Rainey, left, commander of Post 708, VFW, presents a check for $100 to Miss Loreen Phillips, nursing supervisor at City County Hospital, to be used in the hospital's polio ward. Mrs. Rainey, president of the post auxiliary looks on. The gift was presented in honor of 9 year old Gary Alan Shepherd, a patient in the ward.
