Description
John W. Carpenter, third from left, president of the Trinity River Improvement Association, pushed the button Thursday in outlet works of Grapevine Dam which closed two gates to begin impoundment of water in the reservoir on Denton Creek. Others left to right, are Mayor Gordon Tate of Grapevine, Mayor Pro Tem George Bennett of Fort Worth, Mayor E. Carlisle Smith of Grand Prairie and Mayor Tommy Vandergriff of Arlington.
