Happy first-prize winners in the agricultural promotion contest are shown with their plaques, presented by the Star-Telegram at the Texas Press Association meeting. Left to right, are John Manthey Jr. of the Cleveland Advocate; R. H. Laschinger of the Gilmer Mirror and Calvin Clyde Jr. of the Tyler Courier-Times-Telegram. H. S. Hilburn of the Plainview Herald, not shown, also won a plaque. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition June 17, 1952.
