Waiting for the Sigma Delta Chi journalism award dinner activities to start Wednesday night were, left to right, Walter R. Humphrey, winner of the 1951 editorial division first place; Gene Gordon, who tied for first in the news photography division; Stanley Walker, guest speaker and one-time New York newspaperman; Joe McAulay, who shared the photography honors; Gene Gregston, who turned out the winning sports story, and Robert Hilburn and Carl Freund, who tied for first in the news story division.
