Gene Sarazen, left, who won the U. S. Open in 1932, and Lew Worsham, winner in 1947, watch as 1949's champion, Cary Middlecoff, hits a tee shot on No.12 in final practice round at Northwood. Middlecoff had a 69, and will be among favorites to win this time. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition June 12, 1952.
