Description
Raymond Gafford, Colonial's leader through the halfway mark, comes within short inches of sinking a birdie putt on the 16th green. The ball broke away slightly as it neared the cup, halted a foot away. Gafford fired a 69 to go with his opening round 68 for a 36-hole total of 137. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition May 25, 1952.
