Harry J. Adams, center, secretary-treasurer in 1908 of the old Grocers and Butchers Association of Texas, the forerunner of the present day retail Merchants Association of Texas, recalls early days of the organization with officials of the RMAT's 50th annual business conference and credit sales clinic, which opens at Hotel Texas. Left to right, are J. E. R. Chilton Jr., Carlos L. Carter, Charles T. Lux, and Morris S. King. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition May 22, 1952.
