Janet Paine, left watches as her fellow cowgirl Marilyn Nelson, center, pins T. C. Jones, chairman of the highway committee of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, with a U. S Highway 287 badge, which expresses Colorado's thanks for the road from Denver to Port Arthur. A 20-car motorcar arrived in Fort Worth for celebration of the highway's completion. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition May 23, 1952.
