Description
Shivers Win in County Box - Precinct 42, which includes Birdville, Oak Knoll and Haltom City, was one pf Tarrant County's first democratic precincts Saturday to favor uninstructed vote at count's first courthouse- Birdville School-45 delegates defeated "loyalist" efforts to name a permanent chairman and "loyalist" delegates, also a proposal for a written loyalty oath. J. C. Gunter, mayor of Haltom City, read resolution, which passed, calling for uninstructed vote at county and state conventions. In background is Ms. Mae Della Everett of 5718 Highland, teacher of American and world history at Diamond Hill High School, who was named permanent chairman over F. H. Robinson, "loyalist" candidate. Miss Ellis was named secretary.
