Description

Striking contrast between the stocky, compact type steer that gained popularity in recent years and the rangy, largeframe type is shown in this picture in the Spur testing pens. The smaller steer weighed 800 pounds, dressed out 61.2 percent and was graded choice. The larger weighed about 300 pounds more than the smaller one, dressed 64.4 percent and also graded choice. The station got $103.50 more for the larger one.
