    Description

    The South American ostriches, new in Fort Worth, can take in the sights without leaving Forest Park Zoo. They arrived in a swap with the Detroit Zoo. Officially known as rheas, they are lavender colored, a year old and four feet tall. They grow to eight feet when mature. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition April 18, 1952.
