In the foreground is the crumpled liaison plane in which Fred W. Bowden plummeted to his tragic death. The background shows the remnants of the fire-swept plane in which Lewis D. Wall Jr. and Charles R. McMinn died after both their planes collided mid-air during a National Guard training flight near Eagle Mountain Lake. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition March 20, 1950.
