Ray McKown,Texas Christian University's triple threat tailback, found himself surrounded by a cordon of princesses as he was named king of the 1952 Laneri Mardi Gras at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. The girls are, left to right, standing, Joanne Patton, Jo Ann Vitasek, Barbara Anglen and Rachel Roth, seated, Madie Echols, left, and Rose Marie Keas. Miss Vitasek was queen of the 1952 celebration.
