Description
Few people at the stock show can tell Lee Hendricks from his identical twin, Byron. But the Hendricks' horses can. The 22 performing steeds in the twins' daredevil and comedy rode act not only know one 28-year-old Hendricks from another, but play favorites. "Those my bud trained won't perform too well for me", says Lee. "It's the same way with the horses I trained. So we always ride our own sets". For 13 years, with the exception of a 2 1/2 year hitch in the World War II paratroopers, the Missouri-born twins have worked with horses eight hours a day, seven days a week. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition January 27, 1952.
